Chapter 9 Abby

The smell of sewer water and the rushing footsteps of mailmen seemed like heaven to me. Even though we didn't have mailmen on the isle it felt like I lived here but I seemed out of place. My clothes were less noble and rich like then the ones sold here and the queen offered to spend her own money on new clothes for me. With going into the city she said that I needed a guard so I don't get robbed but a guard to her is a tiny unite of 6 people around me.

These guard escorted me everywhere that I soon lost myself in the city until a shop in the middle of the square caught my attention. Ding! I stepped inside to darkness then candles lit up going back to what seemed like the middle of the block but didn't. "Care for a fortune or anything magical?" Said a voice so chilling because there was no one but me in here, all the guards were posted outside the building and around it.

"Who are you? Where are you?" I replied, wishing that I had something to fight with if it came to that. "Ooh, you don't need to know, you only need to know how to get to me." The voice replied, then he or she appeared in a cloaked figure, "Come dear and let me tell you your fortune."

I stepped to the table like I wanted something, like this fox put me go in a trance. "I will show your past, present, and future." I could see now that it was a women talking and she was a fox, but could I trust her? Could she tell the truth or lies? "Don't think nonsense deary, you can trust me." She replied as if know what I was thinking. She set three cards on the table then a bright light appeared and we were in my past at one of the days at the tavern on the isle before Ryan came and I remember it still.
